I’m Nora

Welcome to the Workbench Where We Actually Break Things

I was 45 when I opened a sealed cardboard box in my attic and pulled out a lopsided, heavily glazed ceramic bowl I had made when I was nine. I held this bumpy, undeniably ugly, wonderful little object and realized I hadn't made a single tangible thing with my own hands in nearly two decades.

My entire adult life had been spent building spreadsheets, organizing logistics, and optimizing digital files. I had become so obsessed with efficiency and avoiding mistakes in my career that I had subconsciously applied the same sterile rules to my free time. If I couldn't paint a masterpiece or knit a flawless sweater on the very first try, what was the point of buying the supplies?

I sat on those dusty attic floorboards and realized how much joy I was denying myself just to avoid being bad at something. That was the exact moment the idea for Druckhaus König was born.
